About PC-ABS:
PC-ABS offers the best features of two great FDM thermoplastics: the strength and heat resistance of PolyCarbonite and the flexibility of ABS. PC-ABS also exhibits excellent feature definition and surface finish.
Our Black PC-ABS 1.75mm filament:
In order to use PC-ABS with your fused filament fabrication (FFF) desktop 3D printer you have to have a heated bed and an extruder that reaches temprature of atleast 245˚C, such as:
Engineers and designers use PC-ABS in demanding applications like power-tool prototyping and industrial equipment manufacturing. 3D printing in real engineering thermoplastics results in stronger parts, more confident testing and prototypes that mimic the material properties of the final product. This material offers the best features of two great FDM thermoplastics: the strength and heat resistance of PC and the flexibility of ABS. PC-ABS also exhibits excellent feature definition and surface finish.

Recommendations, Tips & Tricks
It is recommended to use a heated print bed when printing PC-ABS set to approximately 100°C-120°C. And if you have a heated chamber such as the one in the 3NTR machines a temp of 75-80°C should be used.
As always good first layer adhesion is of the utmost importance in obtaining the best results for your prints. There are several tricks to get the first layer of your ABS print to stick better to the print bed of your 3D printer.
- Use of PEI tape.
- Use polyimide tape (Kapton tape or PET tape).
- Coat your print bed with hairspray. ABS has a tendency to stick really well to extra strong hairsprays.
PEI Ptape, PET tape and Kapton tape are unlikely to leave a residue on your print bed. Hairspray and ABS/Acetone juice coatings will leave a residue on your print bed.
